Serving as housing, power supply and USB 2.0 communications hub for 400 series modules, the 417 is at the heart of our modular approach to signal recovery.

215 High Voltage Power Supply
The 215 high voltage supply module offers a convenient and extremely stable high voltage supply for use with detectors operating in the photo emissive (photomultipliers) and photoconductive (lead sulphide and lead selenide) modes. Designed for dedicated applications, the 215 maintains an exceptional degree of output stabilisation despite variations in temperature, mains voltage or whilst the supply is loaded and current drawn. Housed in the 417 unit, the 215 front panel permits setting and switching of the high voltage. The output voltage may be monitored via the display featured on the 417 unit. External control and switching with a micro-switch in safety interlock systems can also be implemented by application of a DC voltage.

498 Hybrid AC Current Pre-amplifier
The 498 dual channel hybrid AC current pre-amplifier-DC nano ammeter module has been designed to provide a simple solution to two specific signal detection challenges in one module. In the AC mode, the 498 is deployed as a pre-amplifier for lock-in amplifiers employing current source detectors, i.e. photomultipliers and photodiodes. In DC mode, the 498 nano ammeter represents the main detection electronic. Offering short-circuit detector operation and an impressive six decades of gain, wide dynamic range measurements with excellent linearity can be realised. The 498 can be operated from the front panel or fully automated over the USB interface. Over-load and under-load flags are included to enhance optimal remote operation.

275 Ultra Low Noise Pre-Amplifier
The 275 is an ultra-low noise voltage pre-amplifier module designed for use as the lock-in amplifier front-end for Mercury Cadmium Telluride detectors operated in the photoconductive mode. This module features an input shorting switch to avoid damage to the detector during connection and a constant current biasing circuit allowing the precise setting of bias current, recommended by the detector manufacturer.

474 Transformer & Amplifier
The 474 transformer and amplifier module is used as the lock-in amplifier front-end in AC systems for use with current generating detectors including large DC component. Given a signal having both AC and DC components, the 474 transformer allows de-coupling of the two, with the DC being blocked. Gain can then be applied to the sought-after AC signal to ensure optimal recovery. Voltage biasing of the detector used can be achieved by applying voltage across the primary coil of the transformer.

218M Optical Chopper & Control
The 218M optical chopper and control module enables light source amplitude modulation for applications in the infrared and with high ambient illumination. Four easily interchangeable chopping discs are provided as standard which allow chopping frequencies in the range of 5Hz to 3kHz.
