ZnTe/GaSe太赫兹晶体

ZnTe(碲化锌)晶体有一些取向。对于通过光整流过程产生的太赫兹,使用<110>取向的ZnTe。光整流是介质中二阶敏感性较大的不同频率。光学整流也类似于频率倍增,其中晶体中感应的偏振等于单个频率的差值,而不是它们的总和。这可以通过关系 cos(A)*cos(B) =[cos(A+B)+cos(A-B)]/2 来计算。描述光学整流和倍频的另一种方法是考虑当源在频率w时,在频率为2w的介质中感应的偏振。然后,产生的脉冲将是光脉冲的包络。太赫兹脉冲的检测发生在自由空间电光检测中,使用另一个110定向ZnTe晶体。通过太赫兹脉冲的线性传播和通过ZnTe晶体的可见脉冲,可以诱导ZnTe晶体中的双折射,并通过线性偏振可见光脉冲读出i。当两个脉冲都在ZnTe晶体中时,可见极化将由太赫兹脉冲旋转。利用l/4波片、一组平衡光电二极管和分束偏振片,通过跟踪ZnTe晶体后可见光脉冲偏振旋转,在相对于太赫兹脉冲的延迟时间范围内,能够追踪太赫兹脉冲幅值。ZnTe的应用包括LED和激光二极管,太阳能电池,太赫兹成像,电光探测器,全息干涉测量和激光光学相位共轭器件。

硒化镓(GaSe)是一种非线性单光学晶体,具有高非线性系数,宽透明范围和高坝阈值。它是中红外区域 SHG 的一种非常合适的材料。在6.0μm至12μm的波长范围内观察到GaSe的频率倍增特性。

 

一些应用领域包括 - CO2激光器的SHG(高达9%的转换);脉冲CO,CO2和化学DF激光器(I = 2.36μm)辐射的SHG;将CO和CO2激光辐射上转换到可见光区域;通过钕和红外染料激光器或(F-)-中心激光脉冲的频率混合产生红外脉冲;OPG光产生在3.5-18μm以内;太赫兹(T射线)辐射生成。

由于材料结构的原因,无法切割某些相位匹配角度的晶体,因此限制了应用领域。
